From hosting regular meetings where all parties can voice their ideas, to establishing online platforms for information sharing and collaboration. The PTSO enables parents to stay informed about their child's academic and school activities, teachers to effectively share their expectations and resources, and students to feel supported and empowered to express their needs and perspectives.

Through community wide fundraising initiatives, volunteer programs, and open communication channels, the PTSO provides essential resources and support, strengthens school-community partnerships, and advocates for policies that benefit students' academic success and well-being.

by Appreciating our Teachers and Improving Classrooms

Teacher Appreciation Week: In May, we honor teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week. Events typically include a breakfasts or meal. We also show our appreciation during Thanksgiving by gifting pies to the Faculty and Staff. This is one of the most popular and appreciated way we show our full hearted appreciation to our teachers and staff.

Meals & Snacks: Throughout the year we try to provide teachers snacks prior to evening school events since they usually don't have time to go home and back to school. We also often provide a light supper prior to the Face-to-Face conferences in late October and mid-April. In August, we help welcome the freshmen with light snacks during freshman orientation. Teachers have expressed great appreciation for these efforts.

Classroom enhancement

Teacher's Wishlist: Once a year we show our appreciation for our awesome Cedar Ridge faculty and staff by fulfilling their Amazon wish lists. Items range from Books, Expo Markers, Gem Kits, Kleenex and more. There are items at every price point, all of which will go a long way to support our teachers and staff in the work they do for our teens.

Mini Grants: The CRHS PTSO Mini-Grant Program is funded by parent and community donations. From this fund, it awards small grants (of up to $500) for projects to augment classroom teaching or other school programs. Past grants have been awarded for books, software, honoraria for speakers and performers, equipment and materials such as calculators, human skeletons, a pottery wheel, wood turning equipment, robotics supplies, and more.

we PROMOTe COMMUNICATION THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL

by participating in school events and holding monthly meetings

Tables at school events: At school events, we set up tables with information about what the PTSO does. This is a great opportunity for parents, teachers, and students to learn more about our organization and the ways we support our school. We believe that by providing this information, we can encourage better communication throughout the school.

PTSO Meetings: Meetings are generally on Tuesday nights at 5:30pm at Cedar Ridge (the first Tuesday of each month, school calendar allowing). We provide Spanish interpretation and welcome all participants at any time!
